When headlines attack
Every now and then I do a quick scan of the news sites to keep up with a particular issue I'm interested in.
I have noticed though, as my time gets more limited, that I take less care to read news sites properly.
But given the increasing sensationalism of aforementioned sites, I was not surprised when I read the following headline on SMH:
"Dying Diana pic to be aired at gay protest"
What a shame that this story didn't actually exist. That would have been Jones/Laws fodder for weeks.
* which is why Actonb's ongoing gripe with SMH, while amusing when she points them out, mean very little to me - I probably mis-read them anyway

Bizarre headline!
Almost as bizarre as 'Miss USA lands on backside'
There's obviously something very Freudian going on there...
I don't actually want to know what it is, to be quite honest.
But, yes - SMH online in all it's myriad manifestations is my own personal cross to bear...
(And lets see if this actually works as Blogger seems to have eaten my last couple of comments on your blog.)
Rosanna,
yes, I really excelled in my "take two headlines and squash them together" that time.
Actonb,
Swallowed comments! I'm glad to hear it, I thought I must have lost you....
I'm glad you're here to bear the cross that is bad subbing - some one has got to do it.
