Other medical conditions experienced by the general populace, as described by Bill Heffernan

Wilfully obese

Obstreperously cancer-riddled

Expressly palsied

Meticulously blind

Studiously crippled

Calculatingly dyslexic

Priests, on the other hand, cannot control themselves.

PS Julia you are ace, and we love you.

Hear Hear!
when I read his comments I wanted to track him down and aquaint him with a bucket of nappies, and so did every 'child of a politician who never saw their Dad' the whole time they were growing up.
It is well-documented that you cannot 'have Canberra' and see your children.

Of course, there's Bill's own affliction, which could be best described as deliberate stupidity.

Could there be anything more depressing than to be Bill Heffernan, and to live your entire life knowing that despite being part of the government, your whole contribution to public life is to say stuff that your leader will subsequently denounce (albeit with little enthusiasm) because the government wants to get a particularly unacceptable message out and if someone has to be sacked for saying it then the rest of the party believes that it's best that it's you?

Clearly, no.
