Cool. Weak. Sweet.

Cool

Eating excellent tasty pho

Weak

Smelling like week-old pho after spilling it on my jacket

Sweet

Great excuse to buy new jacket

Cool

Finding a house that includes in the description: "main bedroom with walk in robe, ensuite, bathroom with spa"

Weak

Having to ransack the house for a bottle of white-out* after making a mistake on the rental application form

Sweet

Despite all my blog-related grammatical foibles, I am an excellent writer of the "application cover letter", designed to ease the mind of real estate agents and owners alike

Cool

CD I bought today on "surprise special" at Big W, the home of inexplicable music choices (one day they have wall-to-wall Young Divas, the next day they've got Death Cab for Cutie....seriously, is their purchaser on crack?)

Weak

Spilling pho on my brand new liner notes, which are also weak in the sense that they can offer me no new trivia to seem like a clever-pants during conversation with muso-types

Sweet

Put new CD in work computer, found CD I had been looking for for ages.

Cool

Getting around in my mum's car on the weekend

Weak

Crashing my mum's car after being pushed off the road and into four-inch-deep gravel by a truck

Sweet

Have outstanding and heretofore unknown "emergency driving" chops which prevented me from

a) rolling the car or
b) ploughing into a tree

and instead only slightly broke a wooden fence and only slight (i.e. scratches) damage to car and no damage whatsoever to occupants of said car. Phew.

Anyone else feel like I'm having more than my fair share of excitement lately? I certainly do.

* I'm amazed that white-out still exists. Even more amazed that we own any.

Am very glad to hear you're safe (viz the car incident). Sounds like you like Pho a lot. So what CD did you get? And I went to see Death Cab when they were here in Melb earlier this year. They were pretty good. Not as mellow as on CD.

Aha - betraying my bogan tendencies, the CD I bought was Bernard Fanning's 'Tea and Sympathy' (was desperate for a CD and sadly the range yesterday didn't extend much beyond Guy Sebastian).

It's ever so slightly like being a die-hard Chisel fan, isn't it?

Have had a bit of thing for Bernard since the early 90s...was blown away by 'Grave Concern' when I heard it on a mix-tape in 1993.

Pho - I'm quite the fan.

Also do you like the way I did that: "I may like Powderfinger, but at least I'm old school" thing just then?

Oh dear.

There's good and bad in so many things. Boo and hooray in equal measure.

Echoing Chai's sentiment, congratulations on your emergency driving abilities. Did you find that you made any emergency driving noises as your brain tried to process what was happening to you? I once made a sort of high-pitched kind of panicky ‘nnnyyeeeaaaaarrrr’ sound when I was in a similar situation as the car lost control.

Times like that make you reassess your priorities. I decided not to get those breast implants.

I'm not sure Bernard qualifies as evidence of bogan tendencies. The album title clearly refers to tea, rather than beer and/or a bong, and anyone who sings live with Clare Bowditch at the ARIAS must surely be a little bit hippy.

It's not like you bought Jet or something.

I like both pho and the odd bit of Chisel (mainly when drunk). Does that make me a die-hard bogan with excellent taste in soup?

Redcap,

Yes. It probably does.

Not that there's anything wrong with that.
